Spring brings new life to the ranch as calves begin to arrive. Visitors may spot newborn elk staying close to their mothers and taking their first steps. It’s a quiet, special time to see the herd growing.

During the summer months, the herd is active and often spread throughout the pastures. Bulls are growing their antlers at an incredible rate, covered in soft velvet, while calves gain strength and confidence. It’s a great time to see the elk up close and moving freely across the ranch.

Fall is one of the most exciting times at the ranch. Bulls shed their velvet and begin the rut, where their deep, echoing bugles can be heard across the property. With heightened activity and energy, this season offers a powerful glimpse into elk behavior.

2026 marks our final year of elk ranch tours and gift shop operations. Thank you to our incredible community for your years of support — we hope to welcome you one last time.
All hours are weather permitting. Because our tours take place outdoors, we will be closed if it is raining. If you are unsure about conditions, please give us a call before heading out to the ranch.
